ABOUT ME
Hello! My name is Olivia Hannon. I have been a professional dog trainer for over 3 and a half years but my passion for dogs started long before that as a child where I grew up running around teaching my cocker spaniel to jump through hoops and give me high fives.
When I was 10, on our way home my mom and I saw a dog wandering in the street. I knew we couldn't just drive by, the dog seemed lost and confused. Upon stopping we realized the dog was blind and scared and I knew we would have to guide him home. I took on the task of guiding him with my voice while my mom found his house. I stayed with the dog getting him used to my voice and building his trust and so when the time came to get him back to his fence he easily followed. This situation not only pioneered my love for helping dogs but allowed me to see the effects and strength of calm, confident leadership on the guidance of our dogs and how it allows them to prosper living long, happy, healthy lives.

This is the foundation I carry with me as I work with dogs and their owners every day. This includes my own dog, Winslow. I rescued him a year ago from an out-of-control situation that led to numerous issues such as resource guarding, dog and people reactivity and even biting. Over the last year I have provided clear communication and boundaries to my dog through confident leadership which has created a strong loving bond of loyalty leading to greatly reduced his anxiety level which allows us to go out and participate in activities where other dogs and people are present with no reactivity.

My mission here at Paws and Effect dog training is to foster a loyal, loving, relationship between you and your dog that is built on the foundation of clear, confident communication so that your bond can overcome all challenges that you face.
